acupunctureAcupuncture is the ancient science of treating all types of illness and conditions by inserting fine needles into any of the 400+ acupuncture points found all over the body. The needles are used to manipulate "qi" (pronounced "chee"), the body's natural energy. Different techniques are used to give a boost to areas of the body that aren't getting enough energy or to disperse excess energy from places where the it is stuck and causing pain. When warmth is needed for areas sensitive to cold, infra red heat lamps, moxibustion, or cupping may be included in your treatment. Electrical stimulation may be used in conjunction with acupuncture to treat muscle spasms and pain.

Acupuncture is not painful! At most, some patients report feeling a sensation comparable to a mosquito bite when a needle is inserted. Some acupuncture patients report sensations of tingling, heat, distention, or energy moving in the body during treatment. The sensations are normal experiences of feeling "qi". All needles used at Remedy are sterile, sealed and disposed of.
